Dealers Say Lexus Is Planing Three New Models

Lexus is reportedly making a luxury two-row crossover called the 'LF' that will compete with the Porsche Cayenne and Alfa Romeo Stelvio. Now, it seems that three additional models are in the works. Lexus is obviously restructuring their lineup. The first is a new three-row crossover that could replace the RX L three-row and be based on the LF-1 Limitless Concept. Dealers are currently unhappy with Lexus's slow model cycles, and say they need more new models to keep relevant.

The Chairman of Lexus's Dealer Advisory Council said, "We've had SUVs that we've been asking for that we have gotten the thumbs up on, and they recently showed us some coming products that [... ] we are very, very enthusiastic about." This new model could be named 'TX', according to the 'TX 350' and 'TX 500h' patents filed in 2020. The 350 name suggests that the TX could get the RX's 3.5 liter V6, and the TX 500h signals that a hybrid version is on the way as well.

Lexus dealers are even more happy about the brand's upcoming EV, which will be previewed by a concept car very soon. The new concept will also show us the brand's updated design direction. Another vehicle we'll see is a new off-road crossover. This is most likely the Toyota Land Cruiser's rugged successor. It will apparently be a flagship model that will be sold in limited numbers with an electric crossover.

The next product coming from Lexus soon is a new touchscreen and infotainment system. Customers have complained about the current software because of its rotary knob and slow responsiveness. The new software will compete with Mercedes' Hyperscreen and Cadillac's OLED display. The Chairman of Lexus's Dealer Advisory Council calls it "industry-leading" and "what [they] currently don't have". We could also see more updates with the LS flagship sedan in the near future. "Not too many people really understand where we're going with the LS, which will be a true benchmark for the brand."
